Ellie Goulding reunited with her estranged husband Caspar Jopling a day after returning from Costa Rica where she spent time with her new surfer boyfriend.

The couple, who announced they were separating after four years of marriage in February, were seen on a stroll in London last Saturday looking relaxed.

The pair, who said they remain 'the closest of friends' and are 'successfully co-parenting' their three-year-old son Arthur, have been spotted on multiple occasions together despite their split.

Ms Goulding, 37, wore black leather trousers paired with a blazer and Stella McCartney handbag while Mr Jopling, 31, also wore an all-black ensemble paired with blue Adidas trainers and a navy cap.

Later in the day, Ms Goulding shared a snap attending the Championship playoff final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday to support her beloved team Leeds United. Mr Jopling, from Yorkshire, previously revealed the singer was also a supporter of the team, posting a photo of her wearing the club's maroon third shirt.

Their united front comes just days after Ms Goulding was seen taking a sunset dip with surf instructor Armando Perez near the small beach town of Santa Teresa.

Ms Goulding had met Mr Perez in December while on a girl's holiday to the Central American country that borders Nicaragua and Panama.

In February, following rumours that she and Mr Jopling had been living apart for six months, photos emerged of the Burn singer kissing and cuddling the hunky surfer in the sea without her wedding ring, fuelling speculation.

It led to the pair publicly announcing their split, with the three-time Brit award winner and climate activist stating on Instagram: 'In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago.

'We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our son's best interests at heart.

'We are committed to protecting our family privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes - we won't be commenting further. Thank you.'

Since then, the singer has been spotted on several occasions back in Costa Rica spending time with Mr Perez.

On Friday they were seen strolling together on the beach of Playa Hermosa - a known surfer's paradise - alongside a friend.

Ms Goulding flaunted her toned figure in a black bikini with her tied back in a low bun as she smiled at Mr Perez who showed off his washboard abs in a pair of white swim trunks.

Earlier in the week the couple had been seen taking an evening dip together in the Pacific.

Basking in the evening sun, the pair were seen emerging onto the beach where they met Perez's brother Gero, who he runs a surfhouse with.

The pair were then seen wading into the ocean carrying a red surfboard laughing and chatting as the sun disappeared.

The three-time Brit award winner wore a black swimsuit and her blonde hair around her shoulders as she lapped up the last of the day's rays.

By the weekend, the singer had returned to London spending time with Mr Jopling as well as attending the Championship playoff final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday to support her beloved team Leeds United.

The once-loved couple, who were married in August 2019 at York Minster surrounded by A-list guests, were previously said to be trying to work out for their toddler.

Ms Goulding and Mr Jopling, who were introduced by mutual friend Princess Eugene, are now expected to divorce after exhausting all other options, sources said.

Friends of the couple told MailOnline 'divorce is the only outcome' following their split after two years battling to save their relationship.

Insiders close to Ms Goulding said it was not the ideal ending for her, but it is the 'only one' after exhausting all possibilities with Mr Jopling, who is an art dealer.

A pal previously revealed: 'Ellie and Caspar have been over for some time now but there was this whole carry on of them pretending to be together.

'The fact is that it is over, Ellie moved on some time ago but she didn't want anyone to know.'

They continued: 'But now she is enjoying the company of other men and there is simply no way back.

'It is so sad, especially because they have got little Arthur but they can't make it work and now it, really sadly, is going to end in divorce. There is no way that the marriage can be saved, the only way it is going to end now is by divorcing.

'It wasn't necessarily the outcome they have always wanted but that's where they are, Ellie is ready to date other men if he isn't already, Caspar surely will be back out on the market again soon.'

Ms Goulding and Mr Jopling were last seen together on a family day out after the Love Me Like You Do hitmaker ended her friendship with Tory peer Zac Goldsmith to 'focus on her marriage.'

The pop star and Mr Jopling were married five years ago surrounded by celebrity friends including Sienna Miller, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry.

Their split was first rumoured in June 2023, when sources claimed they were 'living apart'.

After weeks of discussions about how they would reveal their separation, the pop star's team finally revealed they had been spending time apart - blaming their 'hectic schedules' for the demise of their marriage.

That same month Ms Goulding was seen without her wedding and engagement ring when she attended the Serpentine Summer Party with Mr Jopling.

The singer's last trip to Costa Rica was made in April, where she once again was spotted along the shore with Mr Perez, as she wore a skimpy black bikini teamed with white shorts.

The loved-up pair had subtly hinted at a romance in January, with Ms Goulding and Mr Perez sharing a snap on Instagram in the same location.

Mr Perez and his brother are licensed instructors and run La Puente Surfhouse on Playa Hermosa beach, offering accommodation and lessons.
