Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans

Do you like green beans? I never grew up with them on the dinner plate and developed a love for them in my 20’s. Whenever they were on a special discount, I would buy them and serve them for dinner with pork chops or with salmon.

Then I moved to Portugal and the fresh traditional green beans are either ridiculously overpriced or not available and I turned to frozen green beans instead.

Just as good as fresh, but without any prep work at all, plus they taste amazing when you cook frozen green beans in the air fryer.

Today I wanted to show you how to cook frozen green beans in the air fryer that are so good that my green beans hating husband loves them.

Air Fryer Green Beans Ingredients

I am always looking for an alternative to Air Fryer French Fries, that I can cook in a similar way in the air fryer and then change depending on what vegetables I have in or what seasoning I have in the pantry.

That is what is great about air fryer green beans.

You can grab your frozen green beans, throw them in the air fryer, add a small drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and then add in the seasoning of choice.

If you love:

It is literally is your CHOICE, how you flavour your green beans and that is what is so good about them. I love all the above cuisines, but the kids love Italian, so if I was feeding everyone I would go with an Italian blend.

Or for a quick recap, this is how to cook frozen green beans in the air fryer:

  1. Toss frozen green beans in your seasoning.
  2. Load green beans into the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry.
  4. Serve.

How Long To Cook Frozen Green Beans?

Recipe This | Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans (4)

It takes JUST 13 minutes to cook frozen green beans in the air fryer. Isn’t that fantastic? That’s from the point of throwing frozen green beans from the freezer into the air fryer and having them to eat on a dish.

We do recommend two different cook times though. As one is for cooking your green beans and the second is to add a bit of a crisp to them and turning them into an amazing veggie side dish that fussy eaters will eat.

Notes

Seasoning. We usedItalian Seasoningas our choice of flavour for our green beans fries. BUT you can use whatever you like. My favourite is withGaram Masala, but its all about personal choice.

Thawed. Reduce the time from 10 minutes to 8 minutes if your green beans are NOT frozen.

Oil. I have also done my green beans without oil too. If you want oil free note that they will be just as delicious but will not be crispy. Or an alternative is to toss the green beans in a little butter after cooking.

Cooked. If you want your green beans just cooked and without oil and butter, then stop at the first 10 minutes and they are just like steamed green beans.
