THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2014 THE STANDARD BANNER 7A OBITUARIES William Ross (Rossi) Connors 5 William Ross (Rossi) Connors, Master Sergeant U.S.A.F. Retired, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. at U.T. Medical Center. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Jefferson City, V.F.W.

Post 3380 and the Dandridge Lions Club. Rossi was a retired Master who served first. with the Navy and later with the Air Force during his 26 years of active duty. He. served during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, during which he received numerous awards and commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He served with Strate- gic Air Command (SAC) as a boom operator on KC-97 and 135 tankers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Mary (Kennedy) Connors, and brother, Paul Connors. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elva (Parker) Connors; son, liam Ross Connors (Kathie); daughter, Deborah Linstrom; and grandchildren, Meghan Gagneur and William Lip-polis; and great-grandson, Lippolis. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Dan Whitman officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date to be determined. In lieu.

Free Jeffrey L. Free, age 43, of New Market, TN, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry D. Free; brother, Harold D.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Free; son, Zane Free; mother, Peggy Free; sister, Brenda Williamson; brother, Tony Free; step-children, Jessie and Austin Cameron; nieces, Megan Parker and Sarah Free; very special nephew, James Ralph January 13, 1932 Mr. Ralph J. Ray, age 82, of Dandridge, TN, passed away.

Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at his home. Mr. Ray retired from Bush Brothers after forty years of service: He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe a and Mary Jo Ray; sisters, Daisy Parrott, Rosie Gentry, Grace Phillips, Ruby Huff and Elsada Kear; brothers, Jim, Donald, Brad and Sam Ray. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Viola Shropshire Ray; children, Ann (Wayne) Strom of White Pine, (Mike) Ivey of Chestnut Hill, Linda (Bobby) Shrader of Sevierville, Freda Ray and Tim Ray, both of Dandridge; grandchildren, Mark Strom, Matthew Strom, Nancy Ivey, Melinda Rolen; Scott Shrader, Randall Shrader, J. Ray January 14, 2014 Michael Dale Ivey, Roxanne Ray, Spencer.

Hatcher and six great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, January 16, 2014, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

He was a member and deacon of the Deep Springs Baptist Church and a retired employee of LeSportsac Co. Dub was a loving husband, father, grandfather and grandfather and was a true friend to all that knew him.
